As GCSAA turns 100, it's affiliated chapters are taking part in 100 Acts of Service to honor the milestone by helping others in their community. Here are some of the ways GCSAA chapters are making a difference:
Act: Clean up and prep ball field at Boys and Girls Club of Cleveland. This is the second year the chapter has helped prepare the field.

How did the act tie into Col. John Morley's vision for the association?
Using our skills and talents to help the community. Working on these project together also builds camaraderie between members.
Act: Followed up on various National Golf Day Community Service Project work and installed a dedication plaque on the periscope that was added during the NGD Community Service Project, and most importantly spent time on the golf course with the veterans who proudly call Old Soldiers home.

How did the act tie into Col. John Morley's vision for the association?
The veterans that live at the Armed Forces Retirement Home have been the sole care takers for the nine-hole
Old Soldiers Golf Course. These folks have sacrificed so much for our freedom the least we can do is
support them in caring their golf course.
Act: Yearly service project at Ronald McDonald House charity. This year we spread mulch over the entire 2-acre facility flowerbeds and walkways. In years past, we have done various projects for RMH including planting flowers, power spraying decks, painting plantar boxes, assembling new furniture, etc.

Ronald McDonald House relies solely on volunteers and contributions from the community to stay open -
our service project provides relief for volunteers to be able to provide other services instead of worrying
about the landscaping of the building. And helps the occupants staying at Ronald McDonald House
beautiful grounds to come to while supporting their child's health journey.
Act: For over 10 Years, the chapter has donated $10,000 to $12,000 to St. Mary's Food Bank a year. St. Mary’s Food Bank provides nutritious food to families, children and seniors facing food insecurity. St. Mary's distributes food to millions of neighbors throughout Arizona.

Cactus and Pine’s charitable efforts with St. Mary’s Food Bank over the Many Years to assist those in the
Phoenix Metro area in need reflect this collaboration and service.
Act: Every December, the Central Texas GCSA (CTGCSA) hosts a toy drive benefitting a local children’s hospital, foster care homes or the police department, depending on their chosen organization each year. CTGCSA members are asked to bring at least $20 in new toys, but they always bring more. CTGCSA members then deliver the toys once the toy drive is complete.

How did the act tie into Col. John Morley's vision for the association?
The CTGCSA is dedicated to supporting, giving back to and improving its surrounding community.
Act: Each November, the South Texas GCSA (STGCSA) hosts a toy drive in tandem with its annual meeting, which historically has raised more than $1,000 a year for their chosen community cause. Since 2021, the chapter has partnered with Kids Meals Inc., an organization in Houston that provides families with resources to help end the cycle of poverty.

How did the act tie into Col. John Morley's vision for the association?
The STGCSA is committed to demonstrating benevolence and assisting community members in need.
Act: Over the last 20 years, the North Texas GCSA (NTGCSA) has donated more than $100,000 to Scottish Rite for Children, a pediatric hospital in Dallas. They have also partnered with Scottish Rite every fall for many years to host their member education sessions.
